Walden Castle is a Norman flint-rubble keep, raised around 1141 by Geoffrey de Mandeville and ordered part-demolished by Henry II in 1158. it never got the memo. this is the ruin drawn as proud, unbothered line art — one tall ragged corner left holding the whole brag up, with the deadpan footnote DEMOLISHED 1158. UNCONVINCED. some things refuse to leave. relatable.
